Abstract

The text refers to two factors that have changed the role of media piracy in pop culture and led to its popularization: the epidemic of COVID-19 and the technological development, and particularly emphasizes the transition from traditional media to online formal distribution. The cultural nature of the various practices of piracy was also discussed.

Karolina Myślińska – absolwentka kierunku Media audiowizualne i kultura cyfrowa na Wydziale Filologicznym Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego i pracowniczka Centrum Komiksu i Narracji Interaktywnej w EC1 Łódź - Miasto Kultury. W zakres jej zainteresowań badawczych wchodzą przede wszystkim popkultura i praktyki podejmowane przez jej uczestników, a także szeroko pojęte fandom studies.
